About

Built on one idea: giving comes first

Firstfruits Budget is a household budgeting app that sets giving apart before anything else, then helps you plan what's left on purpose.

“Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce”

Proverbs 3:9 (ESV) · Read it at esv.org

The idea

The first portion, set apart

Firstfruits are the first part of a harvest, given before the rest is used. Firstfruits Budget is built the same way. Your giving is counted first, at the top of the month, and everything else is planned from what remains.

That's why giving has its own place in the app. It has its own category type and its own "Given first" card, it's kept out of your spending budgets, and it never sets off a budget warning. Giving isn't spending that went over. It's the first line of the plan.

You can see it in the logo too: three ledger lines, with new growth sprouting from the top one.

How it's designed

Stewardship, not restriction

A budget should help you use money with intention, not make you feel guilty. These choices run through the whole app.

  • Plain, encouraging words

The app tells you where you stand in plain language: "You're $40 under in Groceries this month." No lectures.

  • Never colour alone

Over budget also says "Over by $12", and money coming in has a "+" or a label, so everything is readable without relying on colour.

  • Scripture handled with care

The optional daily verse uses the ESV only, loaded from Crossway's ESV API, never reworded, and always linked to esv.org.

Privacy

Your finances, on your server

A household budget holds some of the most personal information you have. Firstfruits Budget runs on your own computer or server, so that information stays with you.

There are no accounts with us, no tracking, and nothing loaded from third-party CDNs. Bank sync is read-only, sensitive settings are encrypted at rest, and backups run automatically every night.

Who made it

The story behind Firstfruits Budget

“I’m Travis Lehman (Travis Lehman Tech). I’ve struggled over the years to budget in a way that reflects my values and beliefs. As a Christian I wanted every area of my life to reflect my faith. My wife and I wanted to find a family friendly way for spouses to manage their money together in a way that constantly centers on Christ.”
